This Sunday I ran my first ever half marathon in Oxford to help raise money for the world's newest country South Sudan. It was amazing to be apart of such a big event and see such a wide variety of people all running for so many great causes!
I was lucky enough to run most of the race alongside a very inspiring 13 year old boy, Elis from Oxford who was running in memory of his nan & grandad Tom Sinnott & Edith Goodgame! Congratulations for being one of the youngest contestants to complete the race and for giving me a grand tour of Oxford as we ran! Click here to check out the photos! Currently in South Sudan there are no ways to track or protect the thousands of street children in the capital of Juba, by funding advocacy work there we can give these people a voice and bring their issues and concerns to the table. In August I held a CYHO Midnight Peace Ride in Milton Keynes to help raise awareness for global peace and encourage people to sign Peace One Days global petition! Click here to view photos from the ride! ![]() I was feeling a bit down back in January 2010 and through sheer luck I stumbled upon this book in a nice little book store in Bondi beach, Australia. I started skimming it and then just had to buy it. I think if everyone in the world owned this little book, the world would be a much happier place. Whenever your feeling down have a read and I guarantee you will be smilling by the end. Please check out Susan Jeffers website to read more about this fantastic author and motivational speaker. You can also download her FREE 25 page Booklet to Why Affirmations are So Powerful! Here are some of my favourite lines from the book, “Don’t worry that the wrong decision will deprive you of something – money, friends, status, lovers, or whatever the ‘right’ decision is supposed to bring you. Remember, if you learn through your ‘mistakes’ there are no mistakes” I also really liked this one, if you complain alot then this one is for you! “Complaining will not change things in your life; only action will. Make a list of all you need to do to change what doesn’t work in your life and, little-by little, begin making those changes.” Congratulations to brothers Ryan and Jordan Cox from Milton Keynes for their fantastic efforts at completing a heart shape cycle around beautiful Italy!
