Follow Your Heart Fed up and lonely after working solo on my business since 2011, I knew something needed to change. My time in Costa Rica in 2025 showed me how supportive community living could be, and how I no longer wanted to work in isolation. I just needed to find somewhere Maya could come too. After searching the UK for dog-friendly co-living, I luckily found Froomies, a unique co-living and co-working community in Cornwall. It also happened to be on a beautiful farm in a location I’d dreamed of visiting for over two decades. It was due to open on February 14th, the same day as Maya’s birthday, the perfect place to celebrate. I watched people arrive with different intentions. Some came to rethink their careers, some to write, some to disconnect, and others to simply work remotely while enjoying community life. Within just a week, I could see the shift. Froomies gave myself and others the space to slow down, create, and truly support one another. I loved having Maya with me. She made so many friends and became more open, relaxed, and curious. Even around the farm animals, she gradually became calmer, observing rather than reacting. By the end of my stay, I’d finished writing my second book, something I’d been dreaming of completing for over a decade. This heart route became a quiet reminder that we’re not always meant to work in isolation, and inspired me to try co-working life in Brighton. Keep reading to discover the heart route, the highlights of living at Froomies, and how you can become a Heartful Cyclist too... Location • Lostwithiel, Cornwall (around a 4.5 hour train journey from London) • Froomies is only a 25 minute walk from the train station • Lostwithiel sits within a part of Cornwall often associated with the Mary and Michael ley lines, ancient landscape alignments that are said to pass through this region. Heart Route • Distance: 1.58 km (a few steep hills) • Check out the route on Strava here Cycle Your Heart Out Heart route highlights included... • The Mess Hall Café, The Little Ice Cream Shop, Q Street Café, The River Fowey White Light Crystals and Coffee, New You Beauty Froomie Highlights • The farm animals - Starting the day feeding them just made me so happy. Giving the pigs lots of belly rubs and hugging the affectionate goats. I even got to name a chicken, Snowdrop! • The courtyard fountain - A beautiful space to eat with co-livers, practice yoga, meditate, and relax listening to the fountain with Maya. • Shared meals - Had so much fun cooking new meals and trying new recipes with everyone that came here. Blindfolded meals, Mexican burrito bowls and burgers around the open fire were some of my favourite memories. • Creative community activities - Loved all the activities everyone organised! Blindfold yin yoga, ancestral gym workouts, disney themed sunday services and even writing our own eulogies were just only a few of the highlights. • Wellness - The farm has a gym, indoor heated pool and outdoor jacuzzi, the perfect place to unwind and stargaze, with the most incredible views of the farm. They even have bikes you can borrow. • Farm life - Had so much fun helping to plant new trees, weeding, mulching and learning all about sustainability from their miscanthus field. Cornwall Highlights • The Eden Project - Early morning yoga classes in their mediterranean dome, and cycling from Par and around the incredible site thanks to the Clay trail. • The beaches of St Ives, for me probably the most stunning beaches I’ve ever seen in the UK • Fowey for its cute town, coastal walks and hikes • Exploring the salt path from Polperro to Talland Bay • Cycling the Camel Trail to Padstow, a beautiful way to experience the flat landscape and connect with others. We hired bikes in Wadebridge from Cycle Camel Trail Hire, who even had dog trailers so Maya and her furry friend Ted could join. Spread the Love Creating heart routes, guiding meditations, and sharing heart-shaped walks around the farm became a beautiful way to connect with others. Thank you Froomies, Yello, Zoe, and to all the beautiful people I met along the way. There’s something special about this place, the Froomie effect. Once you arrive, it’s extremely hard to leave.
