Day after day, night after night, that sentence would whirl around my head. Approaching Cycle Your Heart Out’s 6th birthday, I needed to finally fulfill that wish and overcome my fear of organising! For years I’ve helped people make heart shaped routes online and one on one, but never in a group, June 25th changed all that. Celebrating Cycle Your Heart Out's 6th Birthday in Barcelona with around 19 different nationalities was a dream come true. It was beautiful to watch people's faces as they created their own heart-shaped route, and see the ripple effect finally come to light... Top 3 Heart Making Tips
To help kick-start the heart shaped action I shared my 5 Barcelona heart routes with everyone to show my favourite bicycle-friendly paths. I then shared my top 3 tips for making a heart shaped bicycle route...
1. Highlight! The easiest way to make your route is to first highlight all the best bicycle paths and sights you want to see, and then dot to dot style, create your own heart shaped bicycle route. 2. Size doesn't matter - Your heart routes can be as big or as small as you want. 3. Perfection is an illusion - Just like life, your routes don't need to be perfect, nor do they need to go down the most scenic path, just try your best and follow your heart. To create the ripple effect everyone was asked to share their route and use the hashtag #CYHOWORLD to help spread the love, and create a more heartful, loving planet! (which stands for Cycle Your Heart Out World!) Prizes!
Everyone that created their own heart route entered into a prize draw! Picked at random from my bicycle basket we had 7 lucky winners, prizes included a miniature watercolor art set, a wall map of Europe, a Spinning Yogi's goody bag and an official Cycle Your Heart Out mug! No one walked home empty handed however as everyone got and a little heart shaped candy gift!

Thank you to artist Cedric for sketching me, Javier and Magda.
